Thickened lung markings accompanied by fuzzy reticular shadows, with prominence in the right hilar region.
Prominence of the anterior ribs near the costochondral junctions (rachitic rosary).
Cortical tunneling, fraying, and splaying of the proximal humeral growth plate more obvious on the left side.
Case Discussion
This patient is presented with cough, chest x ray showed bronchiolitis.
Incidental findings of active rickets features. Rickets refers to deficient mineralization of the growth plate in the pediatric population. Vitamin D deficiency is the most common cause. Rickets features are most prominent at the bones where growth is greatest like knee, wrist and anterior ribs.
