Case Discussion
A 60-year-old male known case of chronic hepatitis C infection, acquired from a blood transfusion because of a car accident.
People who received a blood transfusion or organ transplant before 1992, may have hepatitis C. Prior to 1992, had not been implemented methods to detect hepatitis C virus in the blood, so many people received infected blood.
