Penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer just distal to the left subclavian artery with a neck measuring 8.9 mm. Mild extension of the false lumen.
Case Discussion
One of the disease processes under the umbrella of acute aortic syndromes (with dissection and intramural hematoma being the other diseases).
On CT aortograms, the typical finding is of a contrast-filled out-pouching of the wall of the aorta.
