Thickening of pyloric wall is seen. Single wall thickness is 4-5 mm (normal is up to 3 mm). Length of pyloric canal is 18-20 mm (normal is up to 16 mm).
Case Discussion
Surgically proven case. If ultrasound findings are diagnostic, there is generally no need for barium series. An experienced surgeon can palpate an 'olive' in epigastric region, representing hypertrophic pyloric stenosis.
