There is a large appendicolith in a distended appendix. Incidentally a bicornuate uterus was noted.
Case Discussion
The presence of an appendicolith on CT of abdomen is broadly accepted as 100% specific for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis in patients with abdominal pain and is considered an indication for appendectomy.
This appendicitis was confirmed after the surgery.
