Basal cell carcinoma - nasal region

Presentation

Recurrent swelling in left nasal region; was operated for the same in the past.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

A band like lesion showing diffusion restriction (ADC not shown) along left dorsum nasi, involving epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous fat and abutting underlying nasalis muscle with possible infiltration. No involvement of lateral nasal cartilage is seen. 

Case Discussion

The patient is a post-operative case of basal cell carcinoma; presenting with recurrent swelling in left nasal region. MRI shows band like lesion showing diffusion restriction along left dorsum nasi, involving epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous fat and abutting underlying nasalis muscle with possible infiltration consistent with recurrence.
