Thinning of the corpus callosum is observed with predominance at the level of the splenium

Ventricular system with disproportionate dilatation of both occipital horns, Evans index 0.38

Case Discussion

In this patient, there is a decrease in the size of the corpus callosum; however, it is present, with normal anteroposterior extension. Therefore, it is described as hypoplasia.

In addition, there is a disproportionate increase in the size of the posterior horns of the lateral ventricles compared to the anterior horns (colpocephaly).

The congenital pathologies of the corpus callosum include agenesis, hypoplasia, hyperplasia, and dysgenesis.
