Innumerable small nodules throughout both lungs.

There is evidence of diffuse miliary nodules (1-3 mm) of uniform size and uniform distribution at both lungs.

Case Discussion

Miliary tuberculosis refers to widespread dissemination of mycobacterium tuberculosis via hematogenous spread, classic miliary TB is defined as millet-like (mean size 2 mm) seeding of TB bacilli in the lung. This pattern is seen in 1-3% of all TB cases.

This particular case was diagnosed by open lung biopsy.
