Presentation

Fever, cough, malaise, weight loss.

Patient Data

Age: 41
Gender: Female
Modality: X-ray

Innumerable small nodules throughout both lungs.

Modality: CT

There is evidence of diffuse miliary nodules (1-3 mm ) of uniform size and uniform distribution at both lung .

Case Discussion

Miliary tuberculosis refers to widespread dissemination of mycobacterium tuberculosis via hematogenous spread , classic miliary TB is defined as milletlike (mean size 2mm) seeding of TB bacilli in the lung .This pattern is seen in 1-3% of all TB cases

This particular case was diagnosed by open lung biopsy.
