A subcapsular perirenal haematoma is a form of perirenal haematoma where blood accumulates beneath the renal capsular margin.

It can arise from a number of causes

Typically seen as crescenteric haematoma peripherally encapsulating a portion of the kidney. The attenuation value depends on the age of the haemorrhage.

On imaging consider

  • perirenal abscess: different clinical context unless in a rare situation where a perirenal abscess complicates a perirenal haematoma
