Diffuse pulmonary nodules

Last revised by Henry Knipe on 24 Oct 2024

Diffuse pulmonary nodules are seen as multiple pulmonary nodular opacifications throughout a lobe or lobes without a predominant distribution (e.g. central vs peripheral) 5.

Diffuse pulmonary nodules can signify disease processes affecting the interstitium or the airspace. They can range from a few millimeters to up to 1 cm, and when very small and numerous, there can be some overlap with the term miliary nodules. They can arise from a vast number of pathological entities.
