Large destructive soft tissue mass arising from the upper left chest wall.




Destruction of much of the 4th rib is noted with tumor extending into serratus anterior but not clearly into subscapularis. Enlarged vessels are visible anterolaterally. The mass heterogeneously enhances.

Destruction of much of the 4th rib is noted with tumor extending into serratus anterior but not clearly into subscapularis. Enlarged vessels are visible anterolaterally. On post contrast fat-saturated MRI, the mass heterogeneously enhances.
Case Discussion
Features are consistent with the subsequently proven Ewing sarcoma of the chest wall. Tumor represents an Ewing sarcoma of the chest wall (formerly known as Askin tumor or pPNET) - see Ewing sarcoma family of tumors.
