Body was changed:

Eclampsia is a condition involving seizures and hypertension in pregnancy. It is thought to result from hypertensive encephalopathy 1.

Radiographic features

MRI

MR imaging has shown that cytotoxic oedema and posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome are common in eclampsia. The severity of the imaging changes correlates with the clinical severity of eclampsia 2.

Treatment and prognosis

The only definitive treatment is delivery of the foetusfetus. Magnesium sulfate is indicated for the prevention and treatment of eclamptic seizures 3.
