Minor salivary gland tumours

Minor salivary gland tumours are a subtype of salivary gland tumours originating from the minor salivary glands, which are found in the lips, tongue, hard palate, and the mucosa of the oropharynx and larynx, among other locations.

Epidemiology

MSGTs account for ~15% of all salivary gland tumours.

Pathology

The most common site of minor salivary gland tumours of the head and neck is the oral cavity. The most common malignant histologies are adenoid cystic carcinoma and mucoepidermoid carcinoma.​
