A MitraClip™ is a device for percutaneous mitral valve repair. It is a percutaneous edge-to-edge attachment system that mimics thesurgical procedure. This technique creates a tissue bridge between theanterior and posterior leaflets by means of one clip deployed throughtrans-septal catheterisation.
It is somtimes offerred for patients suffering from severesymptomatic mitral regurgitation where surgery may not be possible due to inherent risks and other comorbidities (particularly for theelderly with comorbidities 2)
