Lesser trochanter avulsion

Avulsion of the left lesser trochanter. No other injury.

Re-imaged because of new pain following kicking a football. Evidence of ossification at the base of the avulsed lesser trochanter. However, there is lucency at the base of the ossified bridge which may represent re-fracture.

Hip avulsion fractures are common and include avulsion injuries of the trochanters and also the iliac crests.
