Presentation
Left temporal headaches, EEG focus.
Patient Data
Both A1 segments from anterior cerebral arteries form one unique trunk called azygos artery.
Note: This case has been tagged as "legacy" as it no longer meets image preparation and/or other case publication guidelines.
Case Discussion
Azygos anterior cerebral artery is an uncommon to rare variant seen in which the two A1 segments of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA) join to form a single trunk. As a result, no anterior communicating artery is present.
It is important to be aware that this variant is associated with numerous cerebral malformations and with berry aneurysms.
