Non-contrast CT scan of the chest demonstrates bilateral pulmonary cavitating nodules with a ground glass halo, distributed throughout all zones of the lungs.
A feeding vessel sign can be seen in a few of the nodules.
Bilateral pleural effusion is seen.

A known intravenous drug user presented with dyspnea and fever.
In light of the patient's history and echocardiographic data (infective endocarditis), the CT scan's findings represent pulmonary septic emboli.
