Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female
mri

Normal size anteverted uterus. The endometrium has a smooth contour and is not thickened.

Left ovarian mass is confirmed, measuring 4.3 x 3.4 x 3.6cm. It is well circumscribed, with a discrete capsule. The predominant internal component is hyperintense on T1 and T2, with loss of signal on the respective fat saturated sequences. Appearance is in keeping with a dermoid cyst.

A T2 hyperintense, non-enhancing nodular component posteriorly is suggestive of a Rokitansky nodule and there are several scattered foci with similar signal characteristics throughout the lesion. There are no features concerning for malignancy. Left ovarian tissue is noted along the anterior aspect of the mass.

Normal right ovary with no follicles present.

Case Discussion
