There is a small well-defined ovoid cyst of CSF signal on all sequences, measuring (16 x 14 x 13 mm) centered on the conus medullaris, No significant mass effect on cauda equina roots.
Mild bulging disc from L3/4 to L5/S1.
Case Discussion
Cyst of the conus medullary is considered as a rare benign ependymal cyst of the conus medullaris, probably due to abnormal persistence and cystic dilatation of the ventriculus terminalis. It may be symptomatic and the patient presents bladder or bowel sphincter disturbance.
