Case Discussion
There is an incidental finding in this trauma work up foot x-rays. A small accessory bone located just proximal to the base of the bilateral 5th metatarsal within the substance of peroneus longus tendon as it arches around the cuboid consistent with os peroneum.
It may cause os peroneum syndrome including fracture, peroneus longus tenosynovitis and peroneus longus tendon tear.
