Presentation
Right flank pain.
Patient Data
On non contrast images an 8 mm stone is noted at right side of pelvis inferring distal right ureteral stone.
After contrast media administration, urinary collecting system and ureter at the right side were duplicated and hydroureteronephrosis was observed at upper moiety due to distal ureterocele and impacted stone.
Case Discussion
A duplex renal collecting system is one of the most common congenital renal tract abnormalities. It is characterized by an incomplete fusion of upper and lower pole moieties resulting in a variety of complete or incomplete duplications of the collecting system.
