Presentation
Chronic headaches.
Patient Data
There is a well-defined mass in the right cavernous sinus measuring 18 x 16 x 12 mm, isointense to the cortical grey matter on T1, markedly hyperintense on T2 and FLAIR with progressive enhancement on 3D-T1 C+ and complete centripetal fill-in on delayed axial and coronal T1 C+ FS. There is an extension below the ICA which is displaced superiorly, keeping normal caliber.
Mild chronic small vessel ischemic changes.
Case Discussion
MRI features of a well-defined cavernous sinus mass markedly hyperintense on T2 with progressive enhancement and complete fill-in on delayed sequences, suggestive of cavernous sinus hemangioma.
