Achilles tendon rupture

Almost complete tear of the middle portion of the left Achilles tendon (more than 80% of the fibers) however no significant retraction of the tendon is noted proximally or distally.
The plantaris tendon is intact.
No bone marrow edema is noted in the right ankle joint bones.
No evidence of right ankle joint effusion.
Tibio-talar and tibio-calcaneal joints are intact.
Case Discussion
Imaging features represent a complete tear of the middle portion of the left Achilles tendon however no significant retraction of the tendon is noted proximally or distally.
