Acute diverticulitis - right-sided

Right sided abdominal pain - 1 day.

Patient Data

Age: about 45 yrs
Gender: Female

Abdominal ultrasound (selected images)

There is air outside caecum with surrounding fat inflammation. There is mild thickening of caecal wall. There  is no local collection.  

Appendix could not be visualized. Terminal ilium was normal.

Case Discussion

Findings favour right-sided colonic diverticulitis.

CT scan done later showed same findings (Not uploaded).
