Fall, unable to weight bear. ?Neck of femur fracture

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Displaced left superior and inferior pubic rami fractures.  No displaced neck of femur fracture, or apparent sacral fracture.  

Case Discussion

Pelvic radiographs are most often performed in older patients to assess for a neck of femur fracture. Pubic rami fractures often occur with sacral alar fractures, and the later will not always be apparent on a radiograph.
