Artery of Percheron infarct is a type ofposterior circulation infarction that occurs in the presence of a solitary arterial trunk (aka artery of Percheron) that supplies blood to the paramedian paramedian thalami and and the rostral midbrain bilaterally midbrain bilaterally.

A patent foramen ovale was diagnosed in the transesophageal echocardiography.
