Presentation

Past medical history of curettage and right tubal ectopic pregnancy.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
Fluoroscopy

Hysterosalpingography demonstrated classical findings of intrauterine adhesions (Asherman syndrome), and the irregular filling defects in the right side of the uterine cavity.

Cutoff of contrast material in the isthmic portion of the right fallopian due to previous tubal surgery.

Spillage occurs from the left tube.

Case Discussion

Imaging appearance is characteristic of Asherman syndrome and the right tubal block.

Asherman syndrome is characterized by intrauterine adhesions or synechiae. On hysterosalpingography, adhesions can be seen as linear intrauterine filling defects to narrow distorted cavities in severe cases.
