Avascular necrosis with secondary osteoarthritis

70 year old female with right hip pain

Asymmetry of the hip joints, with reduced joint space on the right side, subchondral sclerosis, geodes, and femoral head surface irregularity. 

No fracture. No destructive bony lesion can be seen. 

Case Discussion

The primary process is avascular necrosis of the right femoral head complicated by secondary osteoarthritis.
