Transverse fracture line through the proximal 5th metatarsal, involving the articular surface is in favor of the avulsion fracture.
Os peroneum also is noted.

Avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal styloid, should be differentiated from other types of fractures that occur at the base of the 5th metatarsal.
