Presentation

Fetal MRI for further assessment of an ultrasound anomaly.

Patient Data

Age: 34 weeks gestation
Gender: Male
  • multiple fluid-filled structures are noted on the right side of the thorax with a mediastinal shift to the left side

  • paucity of bowel loops within the abdomen with a decreased abdominal circumference

  • severe hypoplasia of the right lung with decreased total lung volumetry for the gestational age

  • the left lung is unremarkable

Right-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia containing small bowel, right colon, and a small portion of the right lobe of the liver.
