Distal fibular fracture

Motorbike accident.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
Distal fibular fracture. No further fracture identified, however there is soft tissue swelling of the mid and forefoot.
Mildly displaced and shortened obliquely oriented distal fibular fracture (Weber B) with a 5 mm bone fragment projecting over the ankle joint space, possibly intra-articular. Associated soft tissue swelling. No further fracture identified.

Case Discussion

The distal fibula and tibia are important check areas of foot radiographs.
