Presentation

Work up for chronic constipation.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female
Fluoroscopy

Elongation of the colon is present accompanied by dilatation of the affected segment. No pathologic filling defect or out pouching are observed. 

Case Discussion

Dolichocolon refers to the elongation of the colon, usually involving the descending and sigmoid segments, resulting in flexures, loops, and kinks in the lumen of the colon. This may be accompanied by a dilatation of the affected segment and causing chronic constipation.
