Non-contrast chest CT scan demonstrates a moderate size fluid collection in the right pleural cavity and split pleura sign with extension into the soft tissues of the chest wall, compatible with empyema necessitans.
Some air foci are also seen in the pleural and subcutaneous fluid collections.
