The filum terminale is thickened and echogenic in appearance. The conus terminates at the lower aspect of L2. The nerve roots within the cauda equina appeared unremarkable. The thecal sac ends at approximately S2. No terminal masses were identified.
Case Discussion
MRI performed 3 months later confirmed the fatty filum terminale but no evidence of a low lying cord.
