Fibrous dysplasia: mandible

5.6cm x 3.3cm smooth ground glass, expansile mass with a narrow zone of transition in the left body of the mandible.  The medial aspect of the mass involves the alveolar foramen.

The medial aspect of the mass is 2cm from the midline.  No extension into the condyle.

No other bone lesion.

Case Discussion

The appearances of this mandibular lesion is classical for craniofacial fibrous dysplasia.

The expansile groundglass appearance is typical of this condition.
