First metacarpal midshaft fracture

Transverse fracture through the 1st metacarpal shaft with mild angulation but no displacement. No findings of fracture elsewhere. No dislocation. Mild 1st carpometacarpal osteoarthritis.
Case Discussion
Thumb metacarpal fractures more often occur proximally (called epibasal fractures) rather than in the midshaft like in this patient.
