An oval-shaped hypoechoic subcutaneous area is seen at the ventral aspect of the wrist superficial to the flexor retinaculum and flexor tendons. It is well-circumscribed with mild peripheral vascularity. There is a linear hyperechoic structure within suggestive of a foreign body.
Case Discussion
The patient claimed a previous injury with a wooden structure which appeared on ultrasound as a hyperechoic structure surrounded by an area of granulomatous reaction, consistent with foreign body granuloma.
