Foreign body in palm - lead tip

Presentation

Accidental injury to palm by lead pencil tip - 3 - 4 days. C/o local pain, swelling. USG to rule out or localize lead tip.

Patient Data

Age: about 30 yrs
Gender: Female
Ultrasound

An echogenic linear tapering focus is noted in subcutaneous plane.

It is about 10 mm deep to skin.

Local hypervascularity is noted.

No abscess formation.

 

Case Discussion

Findings favor foreign body - lead tip in palm.
