Frontal sinus giant osteoma

Case contributed by Dr Farzad Pirzad

Skull / sinus x-rays

These x-rays demonstrate a lobulated markedly sclerotic mass surrounded by air and located within the frontal sinus. Findings are characteristic of an osteoma

Case Discussion

An osteoma is a benign slowly growing bone tumor.  It is commonly found in the frontal sinus.  Removal is recommended if the osteoma shows significant growth, is blocking the sinus or is very large and threatening to produce an acute sinus blockage.
