Presentation
The patient cannot move their left arm since birth
Patient Data
Relative atrophic changes on the left shoulder (compared to the right side) in the form of an asymmetrically small humeral head with the preserved regular contour of its epiphysis and a poorly formed glenoid. Rounding of the lateral acromial undersurface suggests a pseudarthrosis.
Reduced muscle thickness overlapping the left shoulder girdle compared to the right side.
Findings are suggestive of glenohumeral hypoplasia.
Case Discussion
Atrophic changes in the muscular and osseous structures of the left shoulder girdle suggests glenohumeral dysplasia, which is a potential sequelae of an Erb's palsy.
