Presentation
Occupational hazard with penetrating injury to right eye secondary to a metal projectile.
Patient Data

Disruption of the normal globular architecture of right globe with intrinsic hyperdense attenuation. Loss of anterior - posterior chamber differentiation. Non visualization of lens. Loss of fat planes at tendinous insertions of extra ocular muscles. Hairline undisplaced fracture of roof of orbit. Small disruptions seen in lamina papyracea.
Comminuted inward displaced fracture of floor of orbit and roof of maxillary sinus secondary to a linear high density penetrative foreign body lying embedded partially in the orbit and partially within the maxillary sinus. Smaller foreign bodies seen overlying it.
Intraconal fat, optic nerve and orbital apex are normal.
Case Discussion
Occupational hazard due to metallic projectile injury to the right eye resulting in grievous injury of right globe and accompanying orbital and maxillary sinus wall fractures.
