This case is atypical for an internal carotid dissection because the typical dissection includes occlusion and high high signal T1crescent sign within the wall of the vessel (hematoma). The only feature fitting carotid dissection is evidence evidence of cerebral ischaemia. A double barrel lumen as this case is a rare presentation presentation possibly due to carotid dysplasia.
