Intestinal non-rotation

The duodenum, duodeno-jejunal junction and rest of the small intestine are seen predominantly in the right hemi-abdomen, while the ileocecal junction, cecum and colon are on the left side.
There is an inverse relationship between SMA and SMV (right-sided SMA and left-sided SMV).
These features represent intestinal non-rotation.
No dilated bowel or free fluid.
Case Discussion
Intestinal non-rotation is characterized by a right-sided duodenojejunal junction and a left-sided cecum. In adults, it can be found incidentally, as in this patient.
