Presentation
New right axillary mass. Recent cough and cold. Soft and fluctuant on examination. No discoloration. No evidence of infection.
Patient Data
Multiloculated right axillary collection. No abnormal flow. No hemorrhage. Appearances are most in keeping with a lymphatic malformation.
The MRI confirms the US findings. There is a multiloculated fluid collection in the right axilla with a predominance of macrocysts. No solid elements. No concerning features.
Case Discussion
The child was treated conservatively and followed up in the clinic, where injection sclerotherapy was arranged.
Blood-stained lymphatic fluid was aspirated at injection sclerotherapy, and Doxycycline was instilled. After three treatments, the lesion had significantly reduced in size. She remains in follow-up.
