Dense sclerotic ribs in a dermatomal distribution. Sclerotic 6th and 7th left ribs along a confluent length of bone. Dripping candle wax appearance.
Asymptomatic patient with long period of static appearances. After initial viewing, old films were reviewed dating back more than 10 years to early adulthood which were unchanged.

Q: What is the differential diagnosis for sclerotic rib lesions? show answer
A: By the far the commonest are sclerotic metastases, the most common being from breast and prostate primaries. Other causes include; previous trauma, and metabolic causes.
