Presentation
Headaches and vertigo.
Patient Data
Well-defined broad-based extra-dural mass of the upper cervical canal at C2 level (below the foramen magnum), lateralized to the left, compressing and displacing the spinal cord to the right. It displays an isosignal to the spinal cord on T1 and T2 with no calcification or hemorrhagic component on the GE sequence. Vivid homogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences with a "dural tail sign" well-demonstrated on the postcontrast sagittal sequence.
Case Discussion
MRI features of well-defined broad-based extra-axial mass of the upper cervical canal, below the foramen magnum, compressing the spinal cord, most consistent with meningioma.
