Meniscal avulsion

Patient had history of trauma to knee

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Male

Superior displacement of lateral meniscus (both anterior and posterior horns), which is separated from the tibial articular surface by fluid indicating meniscal avulsion secondary to disruption of meniscotibial ligaments. There is also fracture and edema of the lateral tibial plateau.

The separation of the lateral meniscus from the tibial articular surface leads to a floating meniscus
