Presentation

The patient accidentally twisted his right hand forcefully while using a drill machine 4 days ago. On examination: tenderness, dorsum of the right hand more on the 4th metacarpal area, no open wound.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
x-ray
  • A spiral fracture is seen at the 4th metacarpal bone.
  • Soft tissue shadows appear mildly swollen.

Case Discussion

The patient is a gypsum installer, he was not wearing safety gloves when the accident happened.
