Omphalopagus conjoined twins

Presentation

Gravida 4 para 3 presents for a routine obstetric scan.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Twin viable intrauterine gestations at 13 weeks. Twin cardiac activities are seen in each fetus. There is twin ventral fusion at the level of the distal sternum to the hypogastric region. Intact pericardium in each of the twins. Mild low-lying anechoic subchorionic area measuring 2.6 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm. Amniotic fluid volume is adequate for the gestation. A single placenta is attached to the anterior wall.

No twin separating membrane. There is no myometrial lesion. The internal os is closed. The cervix measures 3.5 cm. Bilateral ovaries are normal. No adnexal mass was seen.

Conclusion: Sonographic features monochorionic monoamniotic omphalopagus conjoined twins.
