Bilateral symmetric enlargement of both ovaries (right ovary measures 12x7 cm and left ovary measures 12x8 cm), containing multiple variable sized cysts. A moderate amount of free intra peritoneal fluid is noted, including perihepatic and peri-splenic locations. Moderate right sided pleural effusion is also seen. Findings are compatible with severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
Case Discussion
In the clinical setting of ovulation induction therapy, the incorrect diagnosis of an ovarian cystic neoplasm should be avoided.
